Cell Phone Health Warning

Posted in Cell Phones | 10 comments

State legislators in Maine are preparing to enact a law which would require all mobile phones in the state to carry a potential health risk warning. Jim Axelrod reports.

www.emfnews.org www.emfnews.org www.emfnews.org Since brain tumours often develop very slowly it may be many years before the full impact of our reliance on mobiles becomes clear. But they are already implicated in another area of concern to health professionals, the onset of dementia in those under 65. Experts are at a loss to explain the increase in this condition which has seen a surge in demand for pre-senile dementia units across the country. But can we really be surprised when a study at the Institute of Environmental Medicine in Sweden confirmed this month that exposure to EMFs significantly accelerates brain degeneration? The risks posed by EMFs are recognised not only by scientists, but hard-headed commercial organisations. In 1997, the insurance company Swiss-Re identified EMFs as likely to cause the biggest increase in claims in years to come. Swiss-Re and other insurers have therefore refused to indemnify the mobile phone operators against health claims from their customers. Even so, we should not hold out much hope of our politicians protecting us from EMFs. The mobile phone industry in the UK contributes around £20 billion in tax every year, so it’s hardly likely the Government will take action to reduce the number of calls. Indeed, it seems to be going in almost the opposite direction, encouraging the installation of Wi-Fi networks in our schools with tactics which sometimes verge on coercion. I’ve been told about a school which was threatened that it would

Cell Phone Radiation Poses Health Risk to Children, Adults

Posted in Cell Phones | 1 comment

www.emfnews.org www.emfnews.org www.emfnews.org by Deborah Mitchell Some of the most popular cell phones on the market are among the ones that emit the most radiation, placing cell phone users at possible risk of cancer. This warning comes from the Environmental Working Group (EWG), which just released an online consumer guide that provides comprehensive information on cell phone radiation emissions for consumers. Samsung Impression and Motorola RAZR are named as top two cell phones that have the lowest radiation emission. The Environmental Working Group, a nonprofit research organization that provides information to consumers on how to protect human health and the environment, rated more than 1000 cell phones that are marketed in the United States. The cell phones found to emit the greatest amount of radiation were the Motorola MOTO Vu204 (Verizon Wireless), T-Mobile myTouch 3G (T-Mobile), Kyocera Jax S1300 (Virgin Mobile), the Blackberry Curve 8330 (Spring, US Cellular, VerizonWireless, MetroPCS), and Motorola W385 (US Cellular, Verizon Wireless). There has been controversy and debate for years about the possible risk of cancer associated with cell phone use. While the EWG study and recent scientific research are not conclusive, together they raise enough red flags for consumers to take note about the risk of cancer. Olga Naidenko, PhD, senior scientist at the Environmental Working Group, noted in the group’s news release that there is enough concern that consumers

Question: Cell phone health problems?
I have to write a speech for school. My topic is “Do cell phones cause cancer.” My question is what other health complications can cell phones cause besides cancer?

Answer:

Answer by Tneam T
Stress. Being available everywhere all the time is not always a good thing and can seriously hurt some people.

Hearing problems? like emitting to high sounds or people listening to music to much with to high volume.

Electric shock, im sure there’s some really stupid person who have died because he/she dropped his/hers cellphone while taking a bath.

Injuries from having annoying ringtones? like some guy has a really stupid/annoying ringtone and another guy simply can’t take it and punch the other guy in the face. thats a health problem to.

You might not know but in certain industries its against the rules to bring your cellphone into the industry area becouse the battery can pop out if you drop it and make a spark which could lead to a big explosion or a fire or something. That would sure be a health problem…

can too many ultrasounds make the baby have health problems later as a child?

Posted in EM Radiation | 18 comments

Question: can too many ultrasounds make the baby have health problems later as a child?
like cancer from the radiation. I was told to have another level 2 one tommorrow (it will be my second one, had one at 19 weeks already) and I’m 34 weeks now. The ob wants em to do it to make sure my baby is growing correctly. I told her I didnt feel that comfortable with it, esp since this time I was measuring correctly, (but last 3 times wasnt) and bc it has radiation, and she said it’s just sound waves. I really doubt a doctor would admit to a patient “yeah dontg et it bc it has radiation”. so, is too many ultrasounds harmful? maybe not cancer but other problems like learning difficulties etc.?
Ive also had 7 other regular ultrasounds level 1 bc of things like not feeling my baby move and a minor car accident.

If it could hurt your baby, they would not do it. Don’t worry, you have a better chance of radiation posioning from a microwave:)
